The Northriding Residents Association (NRA) would like to sincerely thank everyone in our community who contributed towards the Phase 2 pothole repair initiative on Hyperion Road.
Thanks to the commitment and contributions of our residents, the roads are now safer — at least until the next potholes inevitably make an appearance.
As agreed , this phase involved filling the existing potholes only. Unfortunately, the potholes could not be cut out and resurfaced, as this type of work is not permitted under the current agreement. Nevertheless, every improvement makes a difference, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make this initiative possible.
We would also like to thank the community member who reported the work to JRA. What we found particularly disappointing, however, was that this report resulted in an attempt to stop the team from carrying out additional value-add repairs on Windsor Way , where a few new potholes had already formed.
This raises an important question: Why would anyone want to derail a community initiative that is making our neighbourhood safer?
The NRA is working to improve our roads, our surroundings and our neighbourhood for the benefit of everyone in Northriding. These initiatives are not about individuals — they are about the community as a whole. While we welcome constructive engagement and accountability, it is disappointing when efforts to improve our area are actively challenged rather than supported.
FYI, Windsor Way is now safer to drive on as the newly formed holes are closed.
The reality is that only a small number of residents consistently step forward, contribute and give their time to help create a safer, cleaner and more positive Northriding. To those residents — we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you.
The NRA will not stop here.
We will continue driving initiatives that help restore Northriding and make it even better than before — one road, one project and one hurdle at a time.
Thank you to everyone who contributes, supports, reports issues, volunteers and believes that we can make a difference when we work together.
Northriding is our community. Let’s keep improving it together.
Regards,
Team NRA
